In order to ensure timely, high-quality and accessible packaging waste sorting service for all residents, stable financing of this service, law No XIV-408 on the amendment of the Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management was adopted on 17 June 2021, providing for the reform of the separate collection system for packaging waste using waste sorting containers.

Separate collection and transportation services of packaging waste and secondary raw materials generated in the municipal waste stream in the territory of Trakai district municipality are purchased.
