Thermal disposal of dewatered sewage sludge

Eigenbetrieb Stadtentwässerung und Umweltanalytik Nürnberg (SUN) intends to conclude a contract for the thermal disposal of dewatered sewage sludge including collection, transport and, if necessary, weighing for a period of three years.

Contract period: 01.10.2023 - 30.09.2026

SUN expressly excludes agricultural, horticultural and agricultural sewage sludge recycling/disposal. Only the thermal deterioration/disposal of the dewatered sewage sludge is permitted. Sewage sludge mono-incineration, co-incineration in power plants/waste incineration plants or use as a substitute fuel, e.g. in cement plants, is conceivable as thermal recycling/disposal. The recycling must take place in Germany.

Sewage sludge information:

The sewage sludge is dewatered on centrifuges (22 - 30 % DR). TR figures refer to annual averages. Individual values may be outside this information.

The annual amount of pure dry matter is about 10,000 t TR (dry residue).

Approximately 40,000 tons of dewatered sewage sludge to be disposed of are produced annually. The quantity may decrease or increase within the order period according to the requirements of the SUN if necessary. A change in quantity has no influence on agreed disposal prices.
