Description:
Acquisition and supply of a wide-field imaging line for the AGLAE particle accelerator

As part of the PIXXL (Particle Induced X-ray emission eXpanded to Large objects) project, the New AGLAE Research Federation within the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France (C2RMF) wishes to acquire a new beamline allowing wide-field imaging by PIXE method of large heritage objects, in order to study the constituent materials, techniques for the manufacture and restoration of heritage objects and their enhancement.

This call for tenders is broken down as follows:

• Lot 1: Beam focusing system designed to form and scan the beam produced by the AGLAE accelerator on the surface of the works.

• Lot 2: Vacuum pumping and control assembly to obtain and maintain the vacuum level required to obtain a beam of desired quality.

• Lot 3: Control-command system for the elements of the PIXXL line and its integration into the control of the AGLAE accelerator.

Beam focusing system

The ionic optical elements of the system must be able to focus the beam produced by the AGLAE particle accelerator, as well as to deflect it over a distance of more than 5 mm in height in order to be able to scan areas up to 1 m² on the surface of the analyzed objects.

The expected services are specified in the special clauses n°2023_Ligne of large champ_ AGLAE.

Vacuum pumping and control assembly

The vacuum pumping and control elements shall be such as to obtain and maintain a vacuum of adequate quality for the efficient transport of the beam produced by the AGLAE accelerator in the PIXXL line.

The expected services are specified in the special clauses n°2023_Ligne of large champ_ AGLAE.

Control of the PIXXL line and integration into the AGLAE accelerator control system

The control-command system shall be capable of optimising the optics settings of the batch line1, managing the pumping and vacuum control assembly of batch 2 and interlocks from the console located in the throttle control room.

It will have to display and control the operating parameters from both synoptic and textual windows. All parameters and measurements will be stored in a database such that the system can restore any beam configuration.

The expected services are specified in the special clauses n°2023_Ligne of large champ_ AGLAE.

A possible optional additional service (PSE) is offered under this lot: 2-year evolutionary maintenance renewable once at the end of the warranty.
