Explosives. The Defence General Munitions Project Team (DGM PT) has a possible future requirement for the manufacture and supply of an IM Charge Demolition EOD. This is a build to print contract with details of the explosive compositions required and drawings to be issued alongside the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ).
The Charge Demolition EOD is designed as a one piece unit. This contains a polythene outer body which is 130mm long and 58mm in diameter with an end cap which permanently seals the base.
A flange on the top of the outer body contains a detonator chamber also on the flange are 2 securing holes and a lifting cord. The outer body encloses the inner charge container surrounded by fire suppressing powder. The inner charge container is a cylinder 50mm in diameter filled with two explosive pellets and a booster pellet.
After performing trials a decision has been made that the new energetic material for this variant will be DPX 1 Type II and PBXN 5 Type II.
Contractors should declare whether any components within their expression of interest are covered under ITAR.
Those who express an interest in this possible future purchase shall be invited to complete and submit a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ), the results of which shall be used to down-select to a potential of a maximum of 6 candidates who will then be issued with an Invitation to Tender (ITT). Selection criteria to be used will be avaialble on request from w/c 24/06/2013.
