The Federal Cultural Events in Berlin (KBB) GmbH is an association of the Berlin Festival with Martin-Gropius-Bau, the House of World Cultures and the Berlin International Film Festival. With different focal points, these divisions have each set themselves the goal of hosting outstanding international cultural events in Berlin. The object of the award is the conclusion of a framework agreement for the development of a new corporate design and the visual redesign of all communication media of the Berliner Festspiele institution with Martin-Gropius-Bau. This includes umbrella brand design, all festivals and special events in the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and other locations in Berlin, exhibitions and events at Martin-Gropius-Bau, and the four national competitions.

Services from the following areas are commissioned:
• Development of a new corporate design for the Berliner Festspiele The development process involves the design of basic elements, their combined use and definition of design principles based on a prototypical experience chain, and subsequent design within the detailed graphics service (see description below) • Development of a makeover for digital media, including the website, if necessary, only by exchanging basic elements. The implementation of the web design is not part of the call for proposals.
• Development of campaigns for selected festivals/formats/exhibitions/events of the Berliner Festspiele or for umbrella brand communication, adapted to the media used for this purpose and taking into account/clarification of the brand architecture (sender and/or umbrella brand structure) as well as characteristics of the festivals and Venues (especially Haus der Berliner Festspiele and Martin-Gropius-Bau) • Development of new media formats and further development of existing communication media • Detailed media layouts • Development of concepts for audiovisual media, such as trailers and their implementation • Development of image concepts for the website and social media Media based on the respective campaign
