Against the background of the necessary conversion of the heat supply, Fraunhofer IEE is setting up the laboratory infrastructure "District LAB" in order to investigate the questions essential for the implementation of the goals of the energy transition in an urban context and to develop solutions for open questions with partners from industry. These include, in particular, questions regarding the integration of important subsystems into an optimized local (urban) energy system. Central to this is the investigation of dynamic effects resulting from fluctuating feed-in of renewable energies and their local use and their repercussions on the subsystems.
