The authority requires commercial waste collection from Warwickshire County Council properties including general and recycled waste streams.

The initial contract term will be 2 years however the authority reserves the right to extend the contract by further periods not exceeding 48 months at the discretion of the authority based on the contract performance of the successful applicant. The contract will have a maximum possible term of 72 months.

Warwickshire County Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint a contractor to collect waste from their main premises. The intention is to provide a value for money service which will ensure that Warwickshire County Council meets its legal requirements and minimises its environmental impact.

This contract covers approximately 70 sites throughout Warwickshire. However, Warwickshire County Council reserves the right to add or remove sites from the contract as a result of properties being sold or acquired.

There is also the possibility of other public bodies (named within this notice) wishing to access the contract once established. Any supplier will be required to work with the Council and adapt its services as the Council manages and repurposes it property estate during the Covid-19 pandemic and afterwards as working practices change.

The published contract value is based over a 6-year contract and considers a scale of service similar to pre-Covid pandemic levels. At present a significant percentage of the property estate is not operational which effects the value. Any successful supplier will be required to be flexible and work with the Council as it manages its estate.

Any new sites added to the contract will run within the same timescales of the main contract and will not extend past the contract date.
