Description:

The University of York is looking to acquire a high-resolution tandem mass spectrometer with electrospray ionisation. The system is to be sited within the Wolfson Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratory (WACL) with the purpose of supporting the analysis of complex environmental matrices by environmental scientists and their national and international collaborators.

The mass spectrometer must have a minimum mass resolution of 100 000 at m/z 200 and a mass accuracy below 5 ppm. The instrument should cover the range between 50 and 4000 Da with a full scan rate of at least 1 per second and allow rapid polarity switching.

The mass spectrometer should be free of cryogens and have low running and maintenance costs.

Tandem mass spectrometry is a requirement and it is expected this will include collision induced dissociation.

This contract is for the supply and install of the equipment and the provision of a service/maintenance contract for the following years. The length of contract is envisaged to be three years but this may vary, depending on the options provided by the tenderers.

Further information has been provided in the published Invitation to Tender document.
