Artistic design for Växjö's new station and municipal buildings.

Invitation

Växjö Municipality invites artists to submit a declaration of interest to artistic design for Växjö's new station and municipal building.

The design is divided into two parts and is to be carried out in what is called "Växjö's living room".

Part 1 contains shops, restaurants and waiting rooms for travelers. This part should be experienced especially for those moving on this plane.

In part 2, the light shaft is to be shaped and gives the opportunity for a work visible from all floors and also from the outside.

The assignments can be distributed so that an artist can execute one or both of the proposals.

The works will constitute permanent installations and create relationships with the surrounding site. The works are intended to add to the site increased artistic values but not to impair the site's accessibility. We would like to see that the design relates to the site in terms of material selection eg. stone, glass and wood.

Sustainability and future perspectives permeate the project.
