Project Lapwing fundamental aim is to create an open innovation hub, which will allow greater opportunity to attract technologists, entrepreneurs and food producers together in a high-tech employers hub, offering and ensuring access to specialist facilities and technical expertise the College currently have on site. Also, offering a great link with SME with business support programmes, allowing SME innovation projects and to stimulate economic growth within the local community and within the UK. Furthermore, offering a hub linking with Agri -Tech centres across the UK which will enable SME's to capitalise on Government investments.

It is envisaged the project will engage with specialist centres, stakeholders and businesses in the Agri - Tech environment, allowing innovation workshops within this newly created hub and further link existing relationships the College already have with key research centres.

Overall the projects scope includes construction of lecture theatre/event space, work space and employers hub to create a dedicated SME open innovation hub with parking facilities. Areas within this hub include project rooms, office space, networking open spaces for conferencing events and meeting rooms.
