This tender exercise is for new connectivity between GÉANT and the Central Asian countries to expand the present network solution to increase network capacities, greatly improve price/performance and, if possible, create a more regionally-centric network. Point-to-point bandwidth services are required to provide intra-Asian and Asia-Europe research network connectivity and housing services for any additional CAREN network points of presence (POPs, also known as hubs) needed to deliver the solution. Tenderers may make offers for either or both connectivity and equipment housing.

This document invites organisations participating in the procurement (the Tenderers) to tender for point to point connectivity for the CAREN network:

— between Central Asia NREN POPs and CAREN POPs,

— between Central Asia NREN POPs with GEANT/TEIN POPs,

— between CAREN POPs.
