IPM GmbH plans to build the new school building and sports hall on a turnkey basis as part of a holistic award. The scope of services includes planning and construction services for the new construction of the Bernburger Strasse secondary school with 2 other types of school in one school building, as well as the construction of the new sports hall on Vennhauser Allee 167 in Düsseldorf in 2 lots.

- New school building: 7,847 m² GFA
The school building is designed in such a way that the west wing houses the secondary school with 16 classes on 3 floors and the east wing is the special school with 8 classes over two floors.
The subject classes (chemistry and physics) as well as all shared units (art, textiles and music) are located in the middle zone and can be reached within short distances from all units. The administration of both schools and the ZBÜ with the two teacher rooms is concentrated on the ground floor of the east wing.
The utility rooms and a student kiosk, which play a central role in both types of schools, are located on the ground floor in the middle zone, with direct contact with the auditorium and the café, and liven up the “market place”. The canteen is also located on the ground floor in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance and is served via the directly attached Cook & Chill kitchen for the delivery of 270 meals in 3 shifts.
A central, open staircase in combination with seating steps provides both quality of stay, but also forms the future development of the ground floor and first floor for students and teachers. For vertical access, the building also has three necessary staircases and a barrier-free lift.
The school classes of both types of schools are trained as cluster units. Each cluster is connected directly to a staircase, so that direct access from the schoolyard is possible. 4-6 classrooms and 1-2 differentiation rooms are arranged around a central multi-purpose room. The cluster solution is intended to enable the multi-purpose area to be freely used and individually furnished. Additional ancillary areas such as toilet facilities, teaching materials and team room are housed in each cluster. One secondary school cluster is located on the ground floor and two more on the 1st and 2nd floors. One cluster of each support school is also arranged on the 1st and 2nd floors in the opposite wing of the building. The buildings were placed in such a way that as little interference as possible in the tree population worth preserving
and is preserved to the greatest possible extent in joint coordination with the Garden Office.
The contract is awarded to a general contractor, who will also take over the planning from HOAI performance phase 5 onwards. The demolition of existing buildings and the relocation of an FW line took place in advance. The outdoor facilities are manufactured on site.

The 2-compartment sports hall is an independent, detached building. The adjacent room wing of the sports hall contains 2 double changing rooms on the ground floor, equipment rooms, technical rooms, control rooms and toilet facilities, as well as the foyer and a gymnastics room. In terms of their two-dimensional extent, the device compartments are designed according to the standard
