HAF is an inter-municipal waste management company owned by Hemnes Municipality, Lurøy Municipality, Nesna Municipality, Rana Municipality, Radøy Municipality, and Træna Municipality. The company was established in 1994 and is responsible for waste management and septic for the 35,000 inhabitants in the owner municipalities.

The assignment is for the transport and final treatment of approx. 3,500 tonnes a year of roughly milled recycled wood from collections and environmental stations. The material is sorted, but it can include small amounts of other materials such as chip, MDF, plywood, etc., as well as some metal such as nails, screws, small fittings, etc.
