Home care is a service that offers an integrated, organized and coordinated set of actions aimed at providing personal care, home help and social support to those people and / or families with developmental difficulties or social integration, or with a lack of personal autonomy. The territorial area in which the services must be provided is the Baix Penedès region, specifically in the municipalities whose municipalities have delegated this service to the Consell Comarcal.

Home care is aimed at persons and/or families registered and/or residing in the municipalities of the previous point, of all age groups, who for physical, mental or social reasons are in a situation of lack of autonomy, difficulty in carrying out basic activities of daily living or with family problems at risk, and that they meet the requirements and conditions established in the regulations governing the service.

The service includes the following features:

- Cleaning the home.

- Support and attention to people

This service can be complemented by other forms of care, such as assistive technology and care services (telecare, etc.) and other care network services. In this case, this contract will refer exclusively to the household cleaning service and the home help service.

The home cleaning service is a service performed at the beneficiary's home by a professional (the household assistant), who attends to the cleaning needs of the home in order to:

Facilitate the cleaning of the home, considering the actions that involve a certain effort for the person.

Favor the order and maintenance of the conditions of the home, understanding that ordinary maintenance is developed by the person, if their state of health allows it.

The support and care service for people is a service of help to families or people carried out mainly at home by a specialized professional (social integrator for educational cases, family worker, geriatrics assistant or other higher degrees), which attends to basic and / or relational needs of people with the aim of:

Provide material support, where necessary, developing those tasks that aim to improve the well-being of individuals or families and / or avoid internment, without this representing a risk for them (personal hygiene support, food, etc.).

Give personal attention to family members or group who need it.

Help improve the relationship with the family, the informal network and other groups of coexistence with the community.

Encourage changes in attitude and behavior and facilitate users to discover their own possibilities and make decisions about their lives, as well as the knowledge necessary to improve the quality of life, stimulating the acquisition of personal skills.
