The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a provider to collaborate in the delivery of sterilisation services.

The Trust is engaged in a major building project to replace the Royal Liverpool Hospital with a new hospital with 18 theatres, 23 wards and 646 single bedrooms, due to open in late summer 2017. The service will provide services to the new hospital and also to the Trust's operations on the Broadgreen Hospital site and at the Liverpool Dental Hospital.

The project will include the design, build, equipping and commissioning of a new off-site Sterile Services Unit. The Trust will work alongside its partner to deliver this solution. The term of the partnership will be subject to negotiation.

The Trust will maintain the management of the service and retain the Sterile Services staff under Trust employment; the arrangement will proceed on the basis that the service will not transfer to the Partner and there will be no TUPE transfer.
