The subject of this award is the services of laboratory planning, including the preparation of a functional specification of work incl. Defining the target, supporting and advising on the award of services to a total contractor and overarching the implementation of the planning and construction services for the project:

New modular construction ML4Q in the former parking lot of the Physical Institutes.

It is a three-storey laboratory building that is to meet the space requirements of the ML4Q Cluster of Excellence. After the cluster has moved out, it will be available to the entire Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNF). Agreements with users on the room and function program in the course of planning must be carried out and part of the order. Since the building is to be erected in the long term, great importance is placed on the design of the façade. Innovative, future-oriented and at the same time feasible solutions with limited financial resources are expected, as well as a holistic view of the building. Due to its proximity to the residential development Wilhelm-Waldeyer Straße, great emphasis is placed on low-emission and low-emission solutions (e.g. sound). The implementation of the requirements of engineering and quality standards of the University of Cologne must be observed. Certification according to DGNB or BNB is sought.
