The government has decided to finance a new research and mapping vessel for Norgesgeologiske undersøkelse [NGU] the Geological Survey of Norway. The vessel must be equipped with sediment sonar and multi-beam sonar. The Geological Survey of Norway announces the procurement of sedimentary sonar and multi-beam sonar for NGU's new research vessel.
The government has decided to finance a new research and mapping vessel for the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU). The vessel must be equipped with sediment sonar and multi-beam sonar. It will be important that it is possible to run the sediment sonar at the same time as the multi-beam sonar without any interference problems arising. Multi-beam sonar with multi-frequency possibility for detailed mapping of shallow water has high priority. It may be relevant to procure two sonars, one with high frequency for mapping of shallow water down to approx. 600 m water depth and one with lower frequency for mapping of deeper water down to approx. 1 400 m water depth. NGU wants tenders for the following three (3) instruments:
1) Sediment sonar;
2) Multi-beam sonar with detailed mapping of shallow water;
3) Multi-beam sonar for mapping to 1 400 m water depth, the Tender documentation is attached.
