The Netherlands Embassy and the government of Ghana are developing a multi-annual programme in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene: the Ghana-Netherlands Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Programme (GNWP) that will focus on integrated urban water and sanitation in five selected districts.

The Netherlands and the Ghanaian government jointly developed the programme in broad terms and the programme is ready for funding. However, before engaging in major investments there is a need to further define the programme. As a next step there is a need for consultancy services to assist in developing master plans, detailed programme documents and implementation manuals, feasibility studies & preliminary designs for infrastructure works and tender documents for the next phase. At the same time, a start can be made for some components, such as behaviour change communication, capacity building and WASH in Schools interventions, which also requires technical assistance.
