SWO Netz GmbH plans to adapt all gas consumption appliances (GVG) in its Wallenhorst grid area from natural gas L (low calorific gas) to natural gas H (high calorific gas).
The upstream gas network operator of SWO Netz GmbH for the advertised switching date is Westnetz GmbH.
In order to ensure the security of supply of natural gas, SWO Netz GmbH will switch its supply from natural gas L (Low calorifique gas) to Natural Gas H (High calorifique gas).
Approximately 5,200 measuring locations with an estimated 6,300 gas consumption devices (1.2 x number of measuring points) in the supply area of SWO Netz GmbH are affected.
The natural gas conversion project is expected to run from Q4 2023 to the end of Q1 2027.
The expected switching date for the Wallenhorst grid area is planned by the remote power network operator for September 2026.
This natural gas conversion consists of four tasks:
- Technical project management,
-Elevation
-Adaptation
- quality assurance.
The subsequent quality assurance contractor shall not be considered as a contractor for the survey and adjustment. The assignment is mandatory to different contractors.
The services are based on the requirements of the relevant DVGW regulations in the currently valid version, in particular the technical rules G 680 (A), "Conversion and adaptation of gas appliances" and G 676-B1 (A) - 1st supplement to worksheet G 676, "Qualification criteria for conversion, adaptation, control companies and project management (engineering companies)" as well as the technical notes G 695 (A), "Quality assurance of survey, adaptation and conversion measures for gas appliances", G 106 (M), "Qualification requirements for specialists for the conversion of gas appliances in the context of a change in gas quality; Training plan" and G 107 (M), "Qualification requirements for professionals for quality assurance in the context of a change in gas quality; Training plan" as well as the state of development of the technology.

- inspection of equipment for defects, including gas and exhaust connections,
- Functional control and exhaust gas analysis according to DVGW regulations G 680,
- adjustment in case of overload or underload,
- marking of the gas appliance,
- Coordination with the other project participants
Scope of services adaptation services:
- analysis of the gas appliance survey,
- procurement of the necessary spare parts and materials to carry out the adaptation services,
- adaptation of gas appliances by equipment group,
- checking gas appliances for defects and detecting them,
- adaptation of gas appliances according to the adaptation manual,
- Functional control and exhaust gas analysis according to DVGW regulations G 680,
- marking of gas appliances,
- Coordination with the other project participants.

Quality Assurance (QA)Scope of services quality assurance:
- quality assurance through quality control,
- carrying out on-site quality controls,
- quality control and verification of at least 10 % of all work carried out during the survey phase by means of on-site quality controls at the customer's premises,
- quality control and verification of at least 10 % of all work carried out during the adaptation phase by means of on-site quality controls at the customer's premises,
- quality control and verification of at least 10 % of all work carried out on commercially used gas appliances,
- blocking of gas appliances,
- documentation and evaluation,
- special audits,
- Preparation of special reports for gas installations.
