The slag is produced at 6 incinerators located on Zealand/Falster, and subsequently reprocessing takes place at AFATEK.
Slag has geotechnical features that mean that it can be used as a substitute for natural materials in road construction and civil engineering.
Recycling must take place with the greatest possible regard for groundwater resources. This is ensured by the fact that recycling takes place in accordance with the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's executive order on the use of residues, soil and sorted construction waste, no. 1672 of 15 December 2016 (the "Residual Product Order") and also in accordance with other environmental legislation.
