The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate [Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat (NVE)] will be entering into a contract with a tenderer to assess the feasibility of relevant measures for drainage of the Åknes mountain area in Stranda municipality. An assessment must be made of how the relevant measures can be implemented technically, whether they are acceptable in terms of safety and whether they will produce the desired effect.

A digital tender conference will be held 26.09.2023 at 12. Register in Mercell no later than 24.09.2023 by sending the name and email addresses of participants. The contracting authority encourages the submission of questions in advance of the conference. 

In the period 2017 to 2021, NVE conducted a knowledge project (NVE report no. 20/2021) to look at the possibility of draining surface water and groundwater from the section of unstable rock at Åknes, with the aim of reducing the risk of landslides. Based on the knowledge project, NVE has assessed that there is sufficient knowledge of the geological and hydrological conditions, and that more detailed planning should be carried out for the drainage of surface water and groundwater. The assignment in this call for tenderers is a realistic assessment of relevant drainage measures.

NVE would like to have the opportunity to continue the collaboration with the consultant for the detailed engineering design of the recommended solution. In connection with this, NVE has set up two options, adapted to different contract forms. Whether the options are exercised depends on whether NVE will proceed with the recommended solution, whether NVE is satisfied with the collaboration and the consultant's work in the preliminary project, and what form of contract NVE chooses for the implementation of the recommended solution (if applicable).
