The Ernst-Paasch-Halle was built in 1891 in neo-Gothic style by the Pinneberg industrialist Hermann Wuppermann and is a listed building. It served as a sports hall for the neighboring school.
With the construction of the large sports hall at the Johannes Brahms School, the use as a sports hall ended and the Ernst Paasch Hall was used for cultural events.
Since the load-bearing capacity of the roof cannot be guaranteed, the hall is currently closed for events.
Now the hall is to be converted into a cultural center. Funding for the conversion is provided by the federal programme "Rehabilitation of municipal facilities in the areas of sports, youth and culture".
Measures in the areas of functionality, accessibility, fire protection, building construction, building physics and building technology must be planned and implemented. The building is a listed building. All measures must be coordinated with the monument authority.
