The council has a statutory obligation to commission specialist sexual health services including HIV prevention, sexual health promotion and contraception services for our citizens.
Sexual health is an important area of public health. Most of the adult population are sexually active, including many young people, so access to high quality, safe and effective sexual health services improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities, for example by the prevention and management of sexually transmitted infections. The Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) service is part of the mandated Public Health duties and therefore CYC has an obligation to ensure this service is commissioned on behalf of our citizens.
A new contract is to be awarded to Nimbuscare Ltd for the provision of the Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) on behalf of City of York Council Public Health service.
City of York Council are intending to award a contract to the existing service provider Nimbuscare Ltd following the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Direct Award Process C.
The contract will commence 1st July 2024 to 31st December 2024, with the option to extend for a further six months to 30th June 2025. The estimated total annual value of the Contract is £243,052.
