The object of this assignment is to carry out visual inspections and non-destructive stability measurements on steel, aluminium and concrete (light) masts, poles for signal installations, signal bridges (both portals, linked poles, and gallows poles) for internally illuminated, retroreflective, or dynamic traffic signalling, on Flemish regional and motorways.
This assignment should be considered as part of the maintenance strategy of the Agency for Roads and Traffic for certain types of electromechanical equipment (road lighting, traffic lights, signal bridges, etc.). During regular maintenance, the maintenance contractor carries out a visual inspection of the patrimony to be maintained. In addition to, or to check, the leading official or his representative, in .b the case with this assignment, may have a (part of a) number of installations inspected or measured on a random basis in order to obtain a more in-depth and nuanced view of the state of the patrimony.
The installations on which the services described above must be carried out are spread throughout Flanders. The installation to be checked is not necessarily the property of the Agency for Roads and Traffic, but can also be, for example, an installation that it manages on behalf of another entity of the Flemish Government, or even in an installation that is managed by another infrastructure manager.
In this assignment, we work with one leading official (overarching) and several delegates (o.m. per territorial road department). In principle, it is the agents who will place the orders and follow up on their execution.
