The city of Bischofswerda intends to develop the former, listed cultural centre into a future-oriented, multifunctional municipal and cultural centre. The aim is to restructure public uses such as administration, culture and education and to bundle them at a central location, as well as to create synergies between the uses.

According to the draft contract (see documents on the terms and conditions of the contract), the following services are the subject matter of the planned commission:

- Outdoor space planning acc. to § 39 ff in conjunction with Annex 11 HOAI, LPH 1-9

- Special services according to the contract

for the Municipal and Cultural Centre Bischofswerda.

The expected total completion/handover of users for the municipal and cultural center is planned for July 2026.

If the tendered work phases 1-9 are commissioned, the end of the order is expected to be at the end of 2031 (conclusion LPH 9) subject to securing financing by the client.
