Fire Station South Extension - Object planning according to §33 ff. HOAI LP 1-8
The city of Elmshorn is planning the extension of the South Fire Station for the volunteer fire brigade in Elmshorn. Currently, the Elmshorn Volunteer Fire Department uses two fire stations in the city area, Fire Station North and South, to fulfill its tasks. Due to the structural condition of the North Fire Station, the South Fire Station is to be expanded into the main station and will thus form the central service, training, administration and event location of the Elmshorn Fire Department. An on-site connection and a possible technical connection of the building to the current existing building of the South Fire Station must be taken into account.
In addition to the station, parking spaces and a training area are to be built on Hamburger Straße in Elmshorn. A landscape planner is commissioned for this purpose.
During the construction of the South Fire Station in 2003, care was taken to ensure that a possible reflection of the building could be realized on the same property.
A feasibility study prepared in 2020, which reflected the requirements for the extension of the fire station, showed that implementation on the municipal property is possible.
The feasibility study as well as the requirements of the fire brigade are attached to the tender documents. The building is to have an outer shell suitable for passive houses. No fossil fuels are to be used in the extension of FW Süd. The decision on possible certification and/or funding will be made in the further course of planning.
A preliminary building application is currently being examined on the basis of the feasibility study.
