The Deggendorf Water Management Office is planning flood protection for the Hengersberger Ohe on the left. The aim is to protect against a 100-year flood event in the Niederalteich/Hengersberg polder. For this purpose, the construction work of the civil engineering work is put out to tender. It is envisaged to start the measure in September 2023.
The villages of Hengersberg and Niederalteich are endangered by the flooding of the Danube (waters of the first order) and the own flooding of the Hengersberger Ohe (waters of the second order). The measure (length approx. 3.8km) represents a significant impact due to the many planning constraints and the spatial proximity to the existing buildings.
complex task.
Components of the planned flood protection are:
- Raising existing in earthworks
- HWS wall mounted on foundation steel sheet pile walls in confined conditions
- mobile elements
- Dike crossings and special structures
