Preamble
The Helmholtz-Zentrum hereon GmbH (Hereon) is a non-profit research institution and one of the 18 member institutions of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres. 90% of the expenses of the Hereon are financed by the federal government (BMBF - Federal Ministry of Education and Research) and 10% by the four consortium states (Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Brandenburg).
The statutory task of the society is to conduct research and development in a multidisciplinary network, especially in the fields of materials research, coastal, climate and environmental research as well as regenerative medicine.
Description:
Measurement package Hereon SOOP microplastics laboratory consisting of a QCL-based system for infrared microspectroscopy, as well as a compact stand alone ATR FTIR spectrometer for the detection and identification of microplastic particles in environmental samples as well as chemical imaging of surfaces.
