A contract for engineering design services shall be entered for the Light Rail, Construction stage 5, including rail engineering disciplines and cycle paths.

The fifth construction stage runs from the city centre through Åsane to Vågsbotn, together with a continual cycle route and an extension of the Fløyfjell tunnel to Eidsvåg.

The assignment consists of the engineering design for railways, roads and cycle paths, and generally includes measures that are part of or a consequence of the preliminary project and zoning plans for the section. This includes preparatory work, substructure including tunnels, underground stops, superstructure including track work, adjacent area, landscaping of affected areas, adaptation to side terrain / settlements, stops, public terminals, associated buildings, roads, cycle paths, permanent and temporary road alterations, lighting, signs plans, noise reduction measures, power supply and all technical facilities in the ground, as well as coordination of signalling and telecommunications technology with information systems. Preparation of overall phase plans and detailed descriptions, as well as liability for all application processes and public approvals, are also included. The list is not exhaustive.
