Providing assistance for numerical studies (possibly combined with scale model studies) in the context of the renewal of weir lock complexes managed by De Vlaamse Waterweg.

The object of the assignment is to provide assistance for carrying out numerical studies using the CFD software OpenFOAM for the hydraulic design of parts of lock complexes to be renewed under the management of De Vlaamse Waterweg. This primarily concerns the design of fish passages and their interaction with weirs. It may also be possible to investigate the design for any hydropower structures or other parts of the weir lock complexes. In addition, there is the possibility that these numerical simulations are combined with scale model research (carrying out measurements) and / or site measurements. This is to be able to validate the CFD results.
