West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to replace the West Herts NHS Trust Cancer Information System.
The system must enable compliance with the data collection, reporting and submission requirements for all aspects of cancer information including, but not limited to, national cancer audits, Cancer Waiting Times and COSD. This system must also support real time and complete monitoring and tracking of patients in MDT meetings.
The system must enable the production of outcome reports in a format that can be shared with clinical colleagues including to the referrer as appropriate.
The system must be capable of interfacing with internal systems including the patient administration system and sharing documents with the Trust's clinical portal’.
The system being procured must have the requisite functionality and ability to ensure continuous and real time recording of patient level activity to support:
National Cancer Waiting Times performance monitoring
Individualised Patient tracking via a cancer PTL
Local and National Audit compliance monitoring including COSD and CWT
Provide clinical outcome documentation:
MDT outcomes
GP notifications
Support for MDTs and ADMs in monitoring and improving cancer pathways in line with Best Practice and local business needs
Support for consultants in providing information to support clinical practice and revalidation
Providing supporting evidence to demonstrate compliance with Quality Surveillance (formally Peer review) standards.
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides hospital services to 550 000 people living in Hertfordshire and north London. We are one of the largest employers locally, with approximately 4,400 staff and 446 volunteers. We run services across three sites at Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead (source Trust Operational Plan 2016/17). The Trust sees approximately 16,500 patients via dedicated two week wait pathways and approximately 2 500 patients per year with a diagnosis of cancer.
