The Langenbergschule is a Haupt- and Realschule with about 420 pupils. The school consists of 3 buildings: the main building, which is built over 3 levels on the hillside, as well as a large and a small sports hall. In 2005 a cafeteria with library was connected to the main building. However, the construction project concerns only the main building, which was built in the years 1975 and 1978 in 2 construction phases as reinforced concrete skeleton construction with solid ceilings. The outer skin consists of reinforced concrete sandwich elements (6cm insulation) and double-glazed fixed glazing and sliding windows. The partition walls consist mainly of sheet steel system partition walls with insulation filling in thicknesses of 5-8cm. The roofing is a flat roof insulation with insulation. The floors are made of cement screed with track flooring, in the stairwells with tiles.

Since 2005, the following renovations and renovations have been carried out:

Electrical subdivision in the entire building, refurbishment of the teaching kitchen and the natural science areas as well as a toilet facility on the 1st floor. The installations of the HLS area are still predominantly from the installer time.

Extension of a cafeteria with library above.

The science rooms were rebuilt and renovated in 2008.

The following measures are to be implemented at the school:

Sound insulation improvement (especially room acoustics)

Due to the construction project during operation and the size of the school (limited outsourcing possibilities), 2 construction phases are being renovated.

The overall measure comprises approx. 5,890 m 2 BGF. The required total investment was estimated by the commissioned architect in 2014 in a rough cost estimate in the conclusion of LPH 2 with 12 million. Due to price increases, a total volume of EUR 16 million gross is assumed based on the estimate at that time.

The project is currently in preliminary planning. The object planner and the specialist planners HLS and ELT have already been commissioned.
