The new equipment of the laboratory is intended to make it possible to experience a wide variety of industrial production and manufacturing processes and thus configure solutions for different operators and professional groups. The overall concept includes modular semi-autonomous units for controlling fill levels, flow, pressure and temperature, for example. In addition to control technology, the laboratory offers the opportunity to make sensor technology tangible. Various physical quantities are measured using a wide variety of measuring principles. Here, the trainees are to be given the opportunity to parameterize the sensors (e.g. via a modern IO-Link interface) and to implement controls with the help of the measured values. Furthermore, in the course of Industry 4.0, it will be possible to store measured values in a cloud via a more suitable interface or to display them as a dashboard.
