Contract for the provision of housing property insurance and all insurances applicable to the housing association and its subsidiary. In addition the contact will include claims handling, risk mitigation advice, advice on industry best practice and engineering inspections. The procurement will be 2 staged with suitably qualified bidders selected from ESPDs being invited to tender. Bids will be considered from direct insurance providers and suitably qualified brokers. Summary of cover will be provided with the invitation to tender.
The procurement is for all insurance appropriate to Barrhead Housing Association in the role as an employer and a social landlord and to Levern Property Services especially in the role as a factor. The insurance cover will include property, general (non-life), legal, professional, accident and engineering. As well as insurance cover the contract is for brokerage services if appropriate, claims handling, advice (especially in relation to risk mitigation) and with industry best practice.
The contract is for 3 years from 1.4.2018 with Barrhead having the option to extend at Barrhead's sole discretion for a further 2 years.
The procurement will follow the 2 stage process with bidders being selected if the completed ESPD establishes that they are suitably qualified, experienced and have the financial capacity to provide the service. They will then be invited to tender and have access to all relevant information to allow the submission of a bid, including the specific evaluation criteria.
The contract will be awarded on the basis of most economically advantageous tender.
