GVB is currently using 156 UPS installations. In the future, this number will further increase to around 200 units in 2021. With the ever-increasing number of UPSs under management, GVB wants to get rid of the “ad hoc” involvement of external parties for maintenance and fault repair. GVB wants to organize this better. The GVB lacks sufficient people with the knowledge and skills to keep all UPS installations up-to-date, but certainly in the future, in order to run the entire outstanding fleet of UPS installations in-house, now and in the future. GVB Infra bv Rail Services department has decided to outsource these activities (inspection, maintenance and repair of faults) to an external party.
The number of installations managed and to be taken up by GVB Infra bv Rail Services department is:
- 100 pieces metro EV,
- 16 pieces Tram EV,
- forty S&C,
- 45 pieces NZ-Line as of 1.1.2021.
