The contractor (AN) is responsible for the targeted and efficient implementation of the funding program "Kultur macht stark. Alliances for Education". The tasks of the Contractor, as part of the BMBF's funding management agencies, are to support the Ministry by assuming scientific-technical and administrative tasks and to contribute to improving effectiveness and ensuring rational processing. Within the framework of the commissioned activities, the activity is bound by the guidelines and directives of the BMBF.
The grants to be processed by the Contractor are divided into two groups:
1. Grants to 22 nationwide institutions with organizational structures down to the local level (so-called "sponsors"); these institutions forward subsidies to local sponsors upon application (forwarding of subsidies).
2. Donations to 5 nationwide institutions that initiate the alliances for education at the local level and carry out the extracurricular measures themselves (so-called "initiatives").
In addition, grants are to be managed at 16 counselling centres in all 16 countries.
The Contractor is responsible for the supervision of the above-mentioned ongoing funding projects. Subsequently, the Contractor provides support in the examination of interim and usage records.
In addition to project management, the contractor supports the BMBF in other technical tasks, in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of meetings and events, in technical communication for the Alliances for Education, in the technical support of the web-based administration system "Kumasta" and in the awarding of services.
