The purpose of this Innovation Partnership Contract is to define the conditions under which the
Holder:
- Develops a process for stabilizing metallic mercury in order to make the waste produced compatible with ANDRA specifications
- Commissions this industrial process to treat mercury stored in the CEA's UP1 (Marcoule) and ADEC (Saclay) facilities
The services of the contract will take place in the following phases:
- Phase 1 - Position 1: Research and development of idle processes
- Phase 2 - Item 2: Development and qualification of active processes
- Position 3: Preparation and examination of the acceptance file at CIRES
- Phase 3: Item 4: Treatment of all metal mercury jars and mercury-contaminated waste at the UP1 facility
- Phase 3 - Item 5: Treatment of all metal mercury pots and induced technological waste from ADEC
Item 1 is a closed position. Positions 2 to 5 will be carried out subject to the CEA's decision to continue the innovation partnership.
Optionally, the CEA may ask the Holder:
- Option 1.1.1: Provision of transport packaging and preparation of rigging and stowage plans
- Option 1.1.2: Provision of conveyance and performance of transportation
- Option 1.2.1: Provision of transport packaging and preparation of rigging and stowage plans
- Option 1.2.2: Provision of conveyance and performance of transportation
- Option 2.1.1: Provision of transport packaging and preparation of rigging and stowage plans
- Option 2.1.2: Provision of the conveyance and performance of the transport
- Option 2.2.1: Provision of transport packaging and preparation of cushioning and stowage plans
- Option 2.2.2: Provision of conveyance and performance of transportation
- Option 3 – Waste Management on behalf of CEDA
- Option 4 – Transportation Management on behalf of CEDA
- Option 5 – Cleaning of CEDA Jar Retention Tanks Containing Free Mercury
Options 3 and 4 are waived in the context of the implementation of items 5.2 and 5.3, defined above, for a period of one year. These are renewable 4 times.
