KVA Linth in Niederurnen processes up to 116,000 tons of municipal and industrial waste every year. It produces green electricity, supplies companies and private individuals with heat and recycles metal. The plant has existed since 1973 and has been constantly renewed and modernized. Another groundbreaking development step is now imminent.

The project includes the replacement of kiln line 2, which is more than 40 years old, and extensive upgrading of kiln line 1, which was built in 2001. The exhaust gas cleaning of both furnace lines will be replaced and brought up to the latest state of the art. A new turbo group takes over electricity production and slag will be applied dry in the future. The delivery situation is being redesigned by adding twin 2 to the existing twin 1 and connecting it to the waste bunker. In order to improve traffic logistics, deliveries will be made in the new twin 2 in the future.
