The project comprises the development of twenty nine (29) one and two bedroom flats and four (4) houses for a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership to Code for sustainable homes standard level 3 and 4. The works also include soft and hard landscaping, mechanical and electrical services, on and off site infrastructure and Section 278 works to complete the project. The scheme has full planning permission from the local authority (application no. 11/00484/FUL dated 28.10.2011).
SHG prides itself in delivering high quality developments which is reflected in the building and environmental design which has planning permission. The final product must reflect these aspirations.
The existing buildings on site have been demolished leaving the slabs, foundations and services. Further design development and construction of the scheme is required. The ‘JCT 2011 Design and Build’ contract with employers amendments will be utilised with tenderers defining the time period for the project.
SHG wishes to inform potential tenderers that MH Architects has created the design and have obtained the planning consent. SHG shall name MH architects for the post contract detail building design services.
Gyoury Self Partnership structural engineers, Brooks Devlin code assessors and Simon Jones Associates tree consultants have been involved in elements of design development pre and post planning. These three consultants have in-depth knowledge of the scheme which it is hoped will be of benefit and SHG asks that use of this expertise going forward with the project is considered with the tenderer making appropriate appointments.
