Contract to provide fund management services to the the Pan-Wales Micro-Business Loan Fund.
The Fund seeks to address the Welsh Government stated policy objective regarding loan provision to companies and organisations that have difficulty in accessing finance.
The objectives of the Micro-Business Loan Fund are:
- Support Micro-businesses directly
- Improve productivity, innovation and increase job creation in small businesses across Wales; and
- Finance proposals from outside the normal risk profiles, for example new enterprises without established trading records or small enterprises.
It is envisaged the MBLF will be split between a minimum of two fund managers into sub-funds of not less than £1m, although it is possible that the values may be less than £1m as Finance Wales is managing the Fund on an interim basis and may already have made some investments by the time the contract(s) is/are awarded. The number of fund managers appointed will depend on the quality of tenders received. Finance Wales does not commit to awarding contracts for any particular value or area and reserves the right to award the services in whole or in part to any number of fund managers.
