Audiology services across Derbyshire to deliver a comprehensive patient-centered direct access adult hearing service for age-related hearing loss in line with national guidance and local requirements.
The vision for people with age-related hearing problems is for them to receive, high quality, efficient services delivered closer to home, with short waiting times and high responsiveness to the needs of local communities, free at the point of access.
The Direct Access Adult Hearing Service is aimed at adults, who are in the inclusion criteria, experiencing difficulties with their hearing and communication who feel they might benefit from hearing assessment and care, including the option of trying hearing aids to reduce these difficulties.
This service was offered to the market utilizing an Any Qualified Provider (AQP)process. It was essential that interested providers were able to demonstrate an ability to mobilize the service provider to ensure a service commencement date of 1.4.2017.
Under the terms of AQP, no activity is guaranteed and is therefore entered into as a zero value, zero volume contract. The sum of £50 associated with the contract award notice has been taken from the schedule of rates, which are set as Tariffs and payable on activity is undertaken as follows:
— Tariff 1: Assessment £50.
— Tariff 2: Supply/fit 1 device £100.
— Tariff 3: Supply/fit 2 device £200.
— Tariff 4: Annual aftercare (1st Attendance) £25.
