HQIP is seeking bidders to deliver, promote and develop the National Prostate Cancer Audit, a comparative national clinical audit of the organisation, processes and outcomes of NHS-funded care for men diagnosed with prostate cancer in England and Wales.
The audit will comprise:
— Element 1: An ongoing continuous prospective audit of all eligible patients from their first presentation through diagnosis, treatment / palliation, and outcome from that primary event,
— Element 2: An organisational survey undertaken in contract year 1 or 2,
— Element 3: A national collection in contract year 3 of patient reported outcome and experience measures (PROMs / PREMs). NB: confirmation of the commissioning of this element is dependent on the achievement of contract objectives 1 — 6 during years 1 and 2. This element may be delayed or cancelled if these objectives are not met.
Feasibility work in relation to Prostate specific antigen (PSA) testing, which has been pending for several years, is excluded from years 1-3 of this contract, but may be revisited if a future extension to cover year 4/5 is invited.
