As a replacement for the no longer rehabilitated penitentiary at the garden yard in Münster, a new building in the east of the city of Münster is to be created. On an approx. 180 000 m 2 large, designated in the land use plan as arable and green area area, the new construction of a prison is to emerge. The construction-related handling of the project is the responsibility of the Münster branch of the construction and real estate company NRW. Later user and tenant of the property will be the judiciary NRW. The new construction of the prison will have a total of 640 detention places for adult male prisoners (criminal and pre-trial detention) after completion. There is a gatehouse, a maximum of 4-storey bonded houses with corresponding connecting wings an administration, work operations, sports hall and several functional buildings planned.

- Level 1: Participation contest with 5 participants for participation in level 2,

- Level 2: negotiated procedure.

Execution of duties according to § 12 SV-VO 2009 in connection with the project new construction of the prison Münster.
