A more detailed project description, in which the procurement project is explained in detail, is contained in the award document "Service description"; the service description is also an annex to the framework agreement.
The contractor or persons employed by him act as experts within the meaning of § 20 AtG. The expert advises the nuclear regulatory supervisory authority on questions of monitoring radiation protection instrumentation. The radiation protection instrumentation consists of the devices for ambient dose/ambient dose rate monitoring, surface contamination measurements, sample examinations, personal dosimetry, incorporation monitoring, indoor air monitoring, exhaust air monitoring (emission monitoring), immission monitoring and meteorology (see NMU, approval decision 1/2010, p. 44). There is a main need for:

- the accompaniment of periodic inspections of plant components, systems and components of radiation protection instrumentation.
In individual cases, the service includes the examination of documents and data submitted to the nuclear supervisory authority. The documents and data must be checked for their content, comprehensibility and technical accuracy. The results of all tests should be presented in an expert opinion.
