Description:
Future Charlottenburg (fchB) - Lot 3 - Civil

The object of the overall project “Future Charlottenburg” (FchB) is the construction of a cogeneration plant (CHP plant) consisting of a two-line gas turbine plant with waste heat boiler and a P2H plant.

The aim of the overall project is that the new plants have a total generation capacity of at least 240 MWth (including approx. 80-110 MWth via a P2H system) and at least 100 MWel.

This goal is to be achieved by constructing a two-line gas turbine plant with waste heat boiler and a P2H system (electrode hot water boiler/e-HWE with total output of approx. 80-110 MWth). The best use of available space by the bidders is essential for the issuing body in this regard (see spatial conditions under II.2.4)). Both new plants are expected to replace the old plants currently in operation. The new plants are to be erected on the property of the Charlottenburg heat and power plant (Am Spreebord 5, 10589 Berlin) in an existing and largely gutted building, which formerly included a flue gas desulphurization plant (REA). The new plants must be integrated into the existing infrastructure and fit into the existing spatial conditions of the existing building. The cogeneration plant must also be able to operate on hydrogen in the future. The pre-planning has already been completed and the project is in the approval phase.

This announcement will be advertised as Lot 3 “Civil” (workshop and assembly planning, all structural engineering measures including turbine foundations) for the project “Future Charlottenburg”.

The issuing body intends to award four more lots in addition to the aforementioned lot 3:

- Lot 1 “General Planner” (to support the AG in processing)

- Lot 2 “Power Island” (including gas turbines, fuel gas compressor, machine transformer)

- Lot 4 “EPC Light” (including waste heat boiler, district heating connection, control and e-technology)

- Lot 5 “E-HWE”

Future Charlottenburg (fchB) - Lot 3 - Civil (referred to as lot 3 in this document)

Lot 3 “Civil” announced here contains the structural engineering trades of the project (including assembly and workshop planning), among others:

- addition and partial dismantling of the steel skeleton existing building,

- partial dismantling of the reinforced concrete cellar box of the existing building,

- erection of transformer boxes

- design of the foundations for gas turbines, generators and transformers

- renovation of grating platforms,

- renewal of cranes, elevators, media connections,

- construction of plant road,

- construction site establishment and management of land.

Spatial requirements: The two gas turbine strands must be placed next to each other.

In existing construction, a length of approx. 25 m and a clear width of approx. 14.5 m is available from the entrance to the hall. The hall height in the front area is limited to 23 m by a mezzanage to approx. 9 m in the back area. The filter houses can be installed on the intermediate stage or above the hall in existing construction. The foundations of the turbine lines are established in the basement at -4m, so that the base frames are 0 m. More details can be found in the procurement documents.
