Sanitary and ventilation work as part of the roof renovation of the main building of the Weidigschule, Im Vogelsang 8, 35510 Butzbach
General construction description:
The construction project involves a roof renovation of the main building of the Weidigschule Butzbach.
The building consists of five levels, which follow the original terrain in steps due to the hillside location. All levels are accessible via both internal and external entrances. The building was built in the early 70s and was built as a solid concrete structure. The former exposed concrete surfaces have already been insulated from the outside with an ETICS and painted over from the inside. The outer walls on the gable sides of the building are boarded with wood from the inside and insulated with MW.
The roof surfaces of the main building are now to be completely renovated. The roof consists of flat and shed roofs with bituminous waterproofing and two layers of insulation, a newer one made of EPS and the first insulation of XPS.
The plan is to dismantle the existing insulation and sealing layers except for the load-bearing structure and to rebuild the flat roofs with an insulating layer and bituminous waterproofing. The shed roofs are to be covered with metal profiles. Rooflights and SHEV systems are partially removed or replaced.
The pipes for the drainage of rainwater from the roof are usually laid below the ceiling in the building and connected to the combined sewer under the floor slab.
When renewing the roof, most of the drains on the roof are placed differently due to the rearranged slope insulation. Some of the processes on the roof are planned as a cascade system. Retention on the property is not provided. In order to relieve the ground pipes, a retention on the roof can be carried out.
A photovoltaic system is to be installed on the entire roof surfaces of the main building. The lightning protection system of the entire roof will also be renewed.
The demolition of the old roof structure includes safety and health measures, as the existing roof structures are contaminated with pollutants.
