Description:
Coastal feeding and cleansing

The work includes coastal feeding on the Jutland West Coast and purification in port basins, inlets and sailing primarily along the Jutland West Coast and in the Limfjord.

Annual amount of sand for delivery as coastal feeding is approx. 4,000,000 m3. Annual amount of sand and sediment for purification is approx. 1 700 000 m3 and 380 000 TDS.

The work includes coastal feeding on the Jutland West Coast and purification in port basins, inlets and sailing primarily along the Jutland West Coast and in the Limfjord.

The contract is concluded for a 5-year contract period, and there will be the possibility of extending the contract for a further 1 year.

Work on coastal feeding will include beach feeding and coastal feeding. When feeding on the beach, the sand must be pumped and evenly distributed on the beach. For coastal feeding the sand must be delivered coastal within the -6 m depth curve. The method is optional and can be for example by split vessel, by rainbowing, by pumping through pipeline or other. The feeding lines and the location of the sand in the coastal profile will be described in more detail in the tender material.

Special restrictions apply to the work on coastal feeding (eg limitation in maximum daily capacity, number of vessels at the same time, etc.); this is described in more detail in the tender documents.

The sand for coastal feeding must be recovered in reclamation areas in the North Sea. Furthermore, part of the sand for coastal feeding must be recovered in the Thyborøn channel at low water depth.

Only TSHD may be used, ie towing suction, upon recovery. In coastal feeding, the annual volume to be delivered on several different stretches of the West Coast between Nymindegab and Agger is estimated to be approx. 4,000,000 m3 of sand.

The clean-up will have to take place in both large and small sailing and inlets (eg Grådyb and Sælhundeholmløb) and in both large and small harbor basins, such as in Esbjerg Harbor and in Rømø Harbor. The sites will be described in more detail in the tender documents.

There is a requirement for the use of special environmental grabs for some purification tasks.

The estimated total annual amount of sand and harbor sediment for all clean-up operations will be approx. 1 700 000 m3 and 380 000 TDS, but the amount depends on weather and flow conditions and can therefore vary greatly from year to year.
