Voss library (Voss herad) has an elderly book bus that is to be replaced with a new electric book bus. The book bus is to be built on a suitable chassis (lorry/bus chassis), and delivered ready registered and certified for Norwegian roads. The total weight should not exceed 7,500 kg.

Voss library currently has a book bus (library bus) that is 8.37 metres long, 2.47 wide, with the largest permitted total weight of 7.5 tonnes. The bus drives approx. 4,500 km each year and is run by one person (librarian).

The book bus is currently run as follows: Over a rota of 3 weeks the book bus visits 7 primary schools, 1 secondary school, and 14 nurseries in Voss Herad, and drives 12-13 such rotas in the school year. The book bus stays at most of the schools for an entire day. The book bus has room for approx. 2000 books, and loans approx. 23,000 books over a school year.

Due to its age, the book bus will now be replaced, and we would like to replace it with an electric book bus in accordance with the requirements specification that are attached to the tender documentation.
