This assignment includes biological and water chemical monitoring of the effect of liming in salmon water courses. The liming should restore the water quality affected by long-range acid rain to a level that is not damaging for salmon and other species. A central goal is the rebuilding or re-establishing of salmon stock to a level with normal production.
In all of the limed water courses, investigations shall be carried out of young fish (field investigation in autumn) and benthic fauna (spring and autumn tests) every second year. Note that in 2016 benthic fauna investigations shall only take place in autumn.
The Directorate of the Environment has chosen to divide the monitoring into three sub-assignments. The assignment follow geographical borders and comprise monitoring of fish, benthic fauna and water chemicals in limed watercourses.
Tender offers can be submitted on the following sub-assignments:
1. Aust Agder and Vest Agder (seven water courses);
2. Sogn og Fjordane and Hordaland (four water courses);
3. Rogaland (ten water courses).
See the tender documentation for a more detailed description.
