In accordance with Civil aviation authority (CAA) Regulations (CAP785), all Instrument flight procedures (IFPs) are required to be reviewed and assessed on a 5-yearly basis against the latest aerodrome and obstacle survey for each airport. This review is now required.
Jersey currently has a total of 19 Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs), 17 are due for review. Jersey has a total of 22 Standard instrument arrivals (STARs), all are due for review. Guernsey currently has a total of 16 Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs), 12 are due for review. Guernsey has a total of 11 Standard instrument arrivals (STARs), all are due for review. Alderney Airport does not have any SID or STARs. SIDs and STARs are owned by the controlling authority for the airspace, which is Jersey. Therefore, Jersey will have responsibility to review all the above SIDs and STARs. Guernsey being the aerodrome licence holder are responsible for having the safeguarding assessment (aerodrome survey) carried out which will feed into the SID/STAR review process. In addition, Jersey has 11 instrument approach procedures relevant to Jersey airfield, 9 of which are due for review.
